CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Charlotte Hornets rookie Miles Bridges paid tribute to former Hornets star Larry Johnson and grandmama character in Saturday night's 2019 NBA Slam Dunk contest.
The event at the Spectrum Center included the 3-point contest, which Charlotte native Stephen Curry participated in.
Bridges wore a Larry Johnson jersey and used teammate Kemba Walker as a prop. After a few attempts he was able to pull of a dunk that bounced off the side of the backboard and did a windmill.
Another dunk attempt featured Bridges going through the legs and doing a windmill.
He earned a perfect score in the early rounds but did not make it passed the first two rounds.
Oklahoma City Thunder Hamidou Diallo took home the first place prize beating out former NC State guard Dennis Smith Jr.
