Panthers Acquire Jared Allen

The Panthers have acquired defensive end Jared Allen from the Chicago Bear, pending a physical, for a conditional draft pick in 2016.

The move coming after Panthers head coach Ron Rivera announced they will be without defensive end Charles Johnson this week after he suffered a hamstring in jury in the team's win over the Saints.

Allen is a 5-time pro bowl selection. Since he entered the league in 2004 he ranks first in sacks with 134.

In 2011, he recorded 22 sacks, tied for the second most in NFL history.

Allen spent the first four seasons of his career in Kansas City,  followed by six years with Minnesota. He went to Chicago in 2014.

Through three games this season, Allen has posted five tackles and one interception.
