Panthers WR Curtis Samuel to undergo season-ending surgery

Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Curtis Samuel is out for the season, the team announced Tuesday.

The second-round pick will undergo season-ending surgery on his left ankle and eventually be placed on injured reserve.

Samuel left Monday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins in the third quarter after a Dolphins defensive back rolled on his foot.

Prior to the injury, Samuel caught 15 passes for 115 yards over nine games.

The Panthers easily defeated the Dolphins at home at Bank of America Stadium 45-21. The Carolina Panthers are second in the NFC South behind the New Orleans Saints.
