But what about the children, Cam?
That's what one mother wants Cam Newton to think about before he cuts a rug again during a game.
As The Buzzer told you on Monday, the Carolina Panthers quarterback caused a stir on Sunday when he did the "Dap" for a while after scoring a late touchdown against the Titans.
For a mother who brought her 9-year-old daughter to the game, this was a very traumatic experience for both of them.
In fact, she even wrote a letter to Newton, which she also sent to the Charlotte Observer. You can read the full letter here, but here is an excerpt:
"Because of where we sat, we had a close up view of your conduct in the fourth quarter. The chest puffs. The pelvic thrusts. The arrogant struts and the 'in your face' taunting of both the Titans' players and fans. We saw it all.
The mother closed her letter with this:
"I don't know about your family life Mr. Newton, but I think I'm safe in saying thousands of kids watch you every week. You have amazing talent and an incredible platform to be a role model for them. Unfortunately, what you modeled for them today was egotism, arrogance and poor sportsmanship.
Of course, the mother could've just explained to her daughter that football is a very emotional sport and Newton was excited about scoring, so he was just celebrating, but maybe that was too difficult. Who knows?
We'd also love to know if the mother would feel this strongly if it was a Titans player who did a little celebratory dance.
