Thomas Davis suspension reduced to one game

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis had his suspension reduced from two games to one game after Tuesday's hearing with the NFL.

The league said Monday it was suspending Davis for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams during Sunday's win at Bank of America Stadium.

Davis will still be forced to sit out Sunday's game with Tampa Bay, but because his suspension was reduced, he'll be eligible for next week's regular season finale against Atlanta.
