The man suspected of hitting and killing a cyclist in Caldwell County has been taken into custody, according to NC State Highway Patrol.
Troopers say the suspect vehicle will be missing a part of the front bumper and have damage to the windshield on the passenger side. The rear of the minivan contains numerous stickers to include Batman, YETI, and UNC Tarheel stickers.
The cyclist has been identified as Ignacio Giraldo, 61, of Sunrise, Florida. He passed away from his injuries at Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee on Saturday, Oct. 12.
