(FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) - Showers come to an end Monday morning and we’ll see sunny and dry conditions prevail for the second half of our Monday. Tuesday will be the opposite as clouds increase throughout the day eventually brining the rain in for the second half of Tuesday.
The rain will stick around into Wednesday with winter weather expected in the mountain counties.
There is a winter storm watch in place for Avery, Ashe, Watauga, Burke and Caldwell Counties from 4 p.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m.Wednesday. Snow and mixed precipitation will make for difficult travel conditions.

The unsettled weather continues into the rest of the week and into the weekend. While heavy rain isn’t expected persistent showers will remain in the forecast through Saturday. Be prepared for soggy weather over the next seven days.
