(FOX 46 WJZY) - More than 670,000 customers statewide were without power after Hurricane Florence made its assault on North Carolina, according to NC Emergency Management.
As of 8:30 p.m., the power outage total was 676,704 with the highest concentration in New Hanover, Brunswick, Carteret, Cumberland, and Robeson counties.
The Charlotte area is expected to see heavy rain and 30-40 mph winds in the coming days, which could cause power outages and flooding in certain areas.
