After a few days of dry weather in the Charlotte area, Saturday and Sunday will be Neighborhood Weather Alert days as rain moves in.

Expect more clouds than sun to finish the week on Friday. After starting out in the upper 30s/low 40s, temps will warm close to 60 in the afternoon. Some light rain showers will develop in the morning and afternoon hours.

Friday night through Saturday morning are looking dry at this point, but more rain will move in Saturday afternoon ahead of a cold front. As the front passes Sunday, any lingering showers will gradually move out by late in the day. A thunderstorm or two can’t be ruled out Saturday night & Sunday, but the severe threat is low. A half-inch to an inch of rain is possible by the end of the weekend.

High temperatures top out in the 60s Saturday, and there will be some 70s out there on Sunday. It won’t last too long, though—cooler air returns on Tuesday.
